PEST CONTROL FEATURES
The Pest Control division specializes in the control of cockroaches, rats and mice, fleas, flies, dust mites, termites, spiders, ants, pests of stored products, weed spraying, driveway spraying, warehouse fogging, electric fly control and more. Our technicians attend food safety training courses which cover the Prerequisite Program (PRP) for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Only quality, registered pesticide products with SABS approval are used and all products carry Material Data Safety Sheets. Our pest control division is a member of the Pest Control Industries Board and affiliated to the South African Pest Control Association.
We also specialized in Methyl Bromide fumigation for the control of pests in stored food produce, containers for export, etc.
Our service frequency is usually four weekly which is necessary in order to break the life cycle of most pests. In the event of re-infestation (in between scheduled services) we will visit the site as often as is necessary in order to re-establish control. We do not charge for these call-outs and we attend site within 24 hours of our clients reporting pest activity.
Our branches each have supervisors responsible for quality assurance and the handling of technical queries. We also have quality assurance managers who ensure that our service standards are consistently high.
All of our service technicians, sales consultants and managers are enrolled in the National Certificate in Pest Control which is a two year diploma. It is compulsory for our technicians to qualify in this diploma. We also have an internal induction training program. We have developed a management development program for the fast tracking of staff as the majority of our staff is from previously disadvantaged race groups.
Our sales consultants conduct a survey of the site, identify high risk areas, look for evidence of pest activity and assess the quality of the existing housekeeping standard.
The service scheduling is done by service controllers. The service technician reports to the designated contact person at each visit before commencement of the inspection and treatment. He will apply rodenticide gels to rodent “runs” (pipes/conduits used as walkways by rodents), contact dusts to rodent harborages and insecticidal gels to areas of cockroach infestation. At the end of each treatment he will report to the contact person and debrief him/her on the service. In the event of a moderate or heavy infestation being found, he will automatically book a follow-up service. |
